<p>The present invention provides folding assisting arm assembly for lift gates. In one embodiment, the folding assisting arm assembly comprises a folding assisting apparatus (20) for a lift gate (1) having a platform (30) with a foldable section (32). The apparatus (20) comprises an elongated arm (21 ), and a pivot axle (22), wherein a proximal end (21 B) of the elongated arm (21) is pivotably mounted on the pivot axle (22). The apparatus (20) further comprises a spring (23) for spring loading the elongated arm (21). When the folding assisting apparatus (20) is mounted on the lift gate (1) proximate the platform (30), a biasing tension in the spring (23) urges a distal end (21 A) of the elongated arm (21) on the foldable section (32) of the lift platform (30) during a portion of movement of the lift platform (30) to maintain the foldable section (32) folded.</p> |
