PURPOSE: A reflective display device and a method for controlling the same are provided to perform a display function and a touch panel function at the same time by changing the capacitance or electric field between an upper electrode and a lower electrode. CONSTITUTION: A display unit (610) includes a reflective display material. The display unit is placed between an upper electrode (620) and a lower electrode (630). A sensing unit senses the change of the capacitance between the upper electrode and the lower electrode. An insulating layer (660) is placed on the upper electrode or the lower electrode. The insulating layer includes at least one through electrode.
