PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens that has a large diameter and a wide angle of view and is able to obtain a satisfactory optical performance over the entire zooming range, and to provide an imaging apparatus that has the zoom lens.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens group L1 having positive refractive power; a second lens group L2 having negative refractive power; and a rear group including a plurality of lens groups and having positive refractive power as a whole. When zooming, the zoom lens changes the intervals between the adjacent lens groups. In the zoom lens, the second lens group L2 includes, from the side closest to the object to the image side, a negative lens and a cemented lens composed of a negative lens and a positive lens. The second lens group includes five or more lenses. If the focal distance of the first lens group is represented by f1, the focal distance of the second lens group is represented by f2, the refractive index of a positive lens composing the cemented lens is Ndp, and the refractive index of the negative lens composing the cemented lens is Ndn, 5.0<|f1/f2|<9.0 and 1.1<Ndp/Ndn<1.5 are satisfied. |
