PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a biomedical electrode used for iontophoresis or the like, which achieves cost reduction without causing deformation or the like in a thin plastic base material even when a conductive layer is formed, or the like.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a biomedical electrode 1 includes: a preparation step of a flexible base material 2; a step of forming a metal electrode 11 composed of a metal deposition film on the flexible base material 2; and a step of forming a metal chloride electrode 21 composed of a metal chloride film adjacent to the same surface S of the flexible base material 2 where the metal electrode 11 is formed, and the thickness of the metal electrode 11 is made thinner than the thickness of the metal chloride electrode 21. It is preferable that the metal electrode 11 is a silver electrode and that the metal chloride electrode 21 is a silver-silver chloride electrode. It is preferable to have a formation step of a primer layer between the preparation step of the flexible base material 2 and the formation step of the metal electrode 11, and have a formation step of a film for liftoff between the formation step of the primer layer and the formation step of the metal electrode 11. |
