PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of improving both of photometric accuracy and focusing accuracy by optimizing the timing between contrast AF control and photometric control.SOLUTION: When the start of photographing is instructed, a plurality of lens scans are performed to obtain a plurality of first focal positions whose evaluation values are maximum. After the lens scans, photometric processing is performed. After the photometric processing, the focal position of a focus lens to be driven when photographing is started is predicted based on the time changes of the plurality of first focal positions obtained as the results of the lens scans and a time required until photographing is started, including a photometric time. Then, the focus lens is driven to the predicted focal position. |
