PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that reduces a rise in temperature in large-current operation since winding of a reactor increases as inductance is made large and the rise in temperature causes a problem.SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes a heat insulation box body comprising an outer box, an inner box, and a heat insulator provided between the outer box and the inner box, a compressor constituting a cooling cycle for cooling the interior of the heat insulation box, an inverter circuit driving the compressor, a rectifying and smoothing circuit 121 capable of varying the capacity of a smoothing capacitor by supplying DC electric power from an AC power source to the inverter circuit, a control section 126 controlling the refrigerator, a reactor 107 for harmonic suppression, a fan cooling the compressor, and a machine chamber housing the compressor and a fan. A storage part for storing the reactor 107 is arranged in the machine chamber, and the control section 126 varies the capacity of the smoothing capacitor with a current value of the reactor 107. |
