PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine control device capable of restraining deterioration of engine startability derived from valve timing not at a specific period at the time of starting cranking.SOLUTION: A device comprises a hydraulic drive type variable valve device having a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism has a lock pin of a vane rotor insert into a recess part of a housing for mechanically locking the relative rotation thereof for locking the valve timing at a specific period adequate for engine start. The fuel injection operation is inhibited with a condition that the lock mechanism is not in a lock state (S12:NO) at the time of execution of a cranking operation (S11:YES). Even when the lock mechanism is not in a lock state (S12:NO), if the engine rotational frequency is higher than a predetermined speed JV at the time of execution of the cranking operation (S14:YES), the fuel injection operation is carried out without inhibition (S15). |
