PURPOSE: A chainless electric bicycle is provided to improve the convenience of use by setting the reference value of a drive motor for a reference value suitable for the physical strength of a user. CONSTITUTION: A chainless electric bicycle comprises a drive motor (10), a torsion measuring unit, a control box (30), and an electric battery (40). The drive motor is installed on a wheel (5) and rotates the wheel. The torsion measuring unit is installed on a shaft (4) and measures the torsional strength of the shaft. The control box receives the measured value from the torsion measuring unit and controls the drive motor when the received value is more than a reference value. The electric battery supplies power to the drive motor, the torsion measuring unit, and the control box.
