PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device that is reliable, small, light, and of low cost, and does not require a complicated phase-shifting transformer, and is also capable of regenerative operation while suppressing increase in the number of transformers.SOLUTION: A power conversion device comprises: transformers 201-203 each of which comprises a primary winding connected with input terminals R, S, T and a secondary winding which is comprised of a plurality of mutually insulated single-phase open windings; converter cells 30U1-30W3 each of which comprises a switching element SW, and its input end is connected with each single-phase open winding, and thereby connected in parallel with the input terminal of each phase via the transformer, and its output end is connected in series with the output terminal of each phase, and each of which comprises a converter for performing three level or more voltage conversion and an inverter, and performs single-phase alternating current/single-phase alternating current conversion; and control means 601 for controlling on/off of the switching element SW. |
