PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video image of an excellent S/N even during coloring in the state where it becomes dark and signals in a visible light region are reduced, in response to a strong request to sharply image a target subject even in darkness, for an imaging apparatus representatively like a monitoring camera or an in-vehicle camera.SOLUTION: A luminance signal and a color signal are generated from a visible light pixel signal and a near infrared pixel signal, lightness of a subject is determined, a ratio to be occupied by the near infrared pixel signal in the generated luminance signal is controlled in accordance with a determination result, and the color signal is generated by emphasizing or replacing a specific color or shape and a color of an object in accordance with the luminance signal. |
