PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device is provided to convert an image into a glass type of a user wants to watch a 3 dimensional (3D) stereoscopic image of clear picture quality and to convert the image into a film polarization pattern type if multiple people want to watch the 3D stereoscopic image. CONSTITUTION: A display unit (10) comprises first and second areas. An optical filter (20) is arranged in order to transmit a signal delivered from the display unit. The optical filter forms third and fourth areas in order to divide light delivered from the display unit into the light of 2 kinds and emit it. A stereo controller transmits a 3D sync signal to glasses. The display unit alternately indicates a left eye image signal and a right eye image signal in all areas of the first and second areas.
