<p>PURPOSE: Folder type device and control method thereof are provided to control a device according to an angle by detecting a rotating motion of display unit and body unit based on a hinge and calculating the angle between the display unit and body unit. CONSTITUTION: A first sensor (111) detecting a motion of a display unit (110) is formed in a display unit for measuring a first angular velocity which the display unit rotates based on a hinge connecting the display unit and a body unit (120). A second sensor (121) detecting a motion of the body unit is formed in the body unit for measuring a second angular velocity which the body unit rotates based on the hinge. A control unit (140) receives the first and second angular velocity and control the device according to an angle between the display unit and body unit based on the hinge. The control unit calculates the angle, compares the angel and intensity of a specific threshold value and control the device.
