PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an error even when errors the number of which exceeds the length of an error correction code occur.SOLUTION: A data recording/reproduction device includes a data distributor 3 for duplicating data to be recorded and an RS code, dividing duplication source bit data consisting of the data to be recorded and the RS code, storing the divided duplication source bit data in different recording devices 4a to 4f, dividing duplication bit data consisting of the duplicated data and the RS code, and storing the divided duplication bid data in the different recording devices 4a to 4f. When the divided duplication bit data are stored in the recording devices 4a to 4f, the duplication bit data are stored in a recording device 4 which is different from a recording device 4 in which the duplication source bit data corresponding to the duplication bit data are stored. |
