PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a delay in forming an image due to adjustment.SOLUTION: When an image forming apparatus that forms an image based on image data generated by executing an image process determines whether a predetermined process causing a delay in the image process being executed has occured. When the image forming apparatus determines that it has occured, the image forming apparatus determines whether a condition has been satisfied based on condition information indicating the condition under which an adjustment unit performs an adjustment for maintaining image formation. When the image forming apparatus determines that the condition is satisfied, the adjustment unit is given an instruction to perform the adjustment to solve the problem.
