In a charging process or a discharging process, power is input or output between power blocks (PB1, PB2) and each battery unit (BU) via a power conversion circuit (12) and a breaker unit (22). When detecting an abnormality such as overcharge or the like, a battery management unit (21) transmits to a power conversion control unit (11) a signal for requesting to stop the charging process and/or the discharging process. After this transmission, the battery management unit (21) monitors the value of current flowing through each battery unit (BU) and, when this current value does not become a predetermined value or less within a predetermined time interval, determines that the charging process and/or the discharging process have/has not stopped normally and turns off the breaker unit (22).
|
