PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device capable of intuitively obtaining a direction of a scroll point with respect to a reference point that is not displayed on a screen of a display part.SOLUTION: A map display device includes: a display part 4 for displaying a map; a scroll part 11 for scrolling a map being displayed in the display part 4; a display determination part 12 for determining whether a reference point exists in a scrolled map being displayed in the display part 4; a direction determination part 13 for determining a direction from a reference point to a scroll point when the absence of the reference point is determined; and a shadow addition part 15 for adding a shadow in a direction corresponding to a determined direction to a graphic included in the map being displayed in the display part 4.
