PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform noise reduction processing suitable for each image without requiring information on a photographing apparatus or a photographing environment such as characteristics of an element of a digital camera.SOLUTION: A noise reduction filter depending on an image feature (Bl) extracted based on a subject determination result including the presence/absence of a person and luminance information and saturation information of an input image signal is created, noise reduction processing on the input image signal is performed (40), and further, image quality is corrected depending on the image feature (Bl) (50).
