PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus equipped with a transfer device having a configuration in which neither sheet rush shock jitter nor sheet ejection shock jitter is generated without causing an increase in cost or size.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus having a configuration in which an image superposed and transferred is collectively transferred to an intermediate transfer body 113 in a secondary transfer step, wherein a secondary transfer member to which a transfer bias is applied to face the intermediate transfer body is disposed in the secondary transfer step, and the secondary transfer member comprises: an endless film 121 which is in contact with the surface of the intermediate transfer body 113 to cooperate with the intermediate transfer body 113; an elastic body 120 which presses the endless film 121 to follow the surface form of the intermediate transfer body 113 and can apply a transfer bias; and a support 122 which is disposed inside a side facing the intermediate transfer body 113 in the movement direction of the endless film 121 and revolvably supports the endless film 121. |
