The engine has connectors (13, 14) for connecting a drive shaft with a piston. A lubrication- or cooling device lubricates or cools a cylinder and/or the piston and/or the connector by a fluid medium. A connecting pipe (11) promotes the medium from a reservoir i.e. common-rail storage unit, to a work place. The connecting pipe partly runs through the connector such that the medium is present in the connecting pipe under pressure (P1). The medium is received in another connecting pipe (12) at another pressure (P2), which is higher than the maximum pressure in a normal operation. The fluid medium is selected from a lubricant or a coolant. An independent claim is also included for a method for lubricating or cooling a high-power engine. |
