METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A LINING PIECE

Disclosed is a method for producing a lining piece for the interior of a motor vehicle. In said method, a decorative layer (4) is weakened by treating the same with a laser beam (5) and is cooled in the laser-treated area in order to introduce a predetermined breaking point or bending point (7). According to the invention, the cooling action is performed by evaporating a liquid (2). The invention further relates to a lining piece that is provided with said decorative layer.
