<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of appropriately controlling the movement of a rotary guide member even in the presence of an error in sensitivity or an individual difference of a sensor outputting a detection signal to determine timing for beginning the operation of the rotary guide member. <P>SOLUTION: Upon the commencement of a resist roller pair 143 to carry paper, when no detection signal is received from a fixing top sensor 105a even at timing for detecting the passage of the paper by the fixing top sensor 105a, the receipt of the detection signal is set standby for a waiting time.
