The latch (1) has a rotational axis (2) by which the latch is rotatably pivoted. The support surfaces (3) are extended parallel to the rotation axis, for engaging the pawl (10) of the electrical switching device. The two parallel stop surfaces (4) arranged on the latch are axially offset from the supporting surface with respect to the rotational axis, to stop the rocker arm of the electrical switching device. The stop surfaces are arranged between both the supporting surfaces. An independent claim is included for switching unit.
