The combustion engine has a fuel injector (3) for introducing fuel directly into a first combustion chamber (1). A housing portion (4') is formed in a second combustion chamber (4) which is connected with first combustion chamber through a breakdown portion (5). An ignition unit (6) is arranged in second combustion chamber. The fuel injector is provided with a first aperture (7) and a second aperture (8). The fuel is passed from the fuel injector into first combustion chamber through first aperture and into second combustion chamber through second aperture.
