<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag making-filling-packaging machine of vertical type, which can be made simple and compact despite its motion similar to a box motion. <P>SOLUTION: In the bag making-filling-packaging machine, a motion changing mechanism in which a lever 25 coupled to a crank shaft 6 fits to a lever support point 31 within a long hole 30 changes the continuous rotation of a drive motor 3 into an ellipsoidal motion with a long axis in a vertical direction, which is a combination of a motion along the moving direction (vertical direction, i.e., Y direction) of a packaging material and motion in a contact/separation direction (horizontal direction, i.e., X direction) with respect to the side edge portions fe and fe of the packaging material. Part of the prolate ellipsoidal motion is used for a contact bonding stroke-contact bonding margin, thereby lengthening a pressure bonding distance and a pressure bonding period relative to the side edge portions fe and fe of the packaging material. This prolate ellipsoidal motion is similar to the box motion generally used for a horizontal seal mechanism.
