Class 9(i) An explosive device for blasting and like purposes is provided with a hollow charge housed in a container the base of which is recessed to form a cavity with a plurality of outwardly flaring coaxial conical surfaces, the top of the container being dome-shaped. The charge 5 is placed in a casing of metal, moulded plastics or moulded fibrous material, having a base 31 which may be of metal and is provided with a recess having a frusto-conical outer part and a conical inner part of greater cone angle than the frustum. In the domeshaped top 32 is a blasting cap guide 35 aligned with the cavity in the charge. The container 32 has a flange 33 secured to the base 31 by a beading 34. The base 31 is of thinner material than the container.</p> |
