PURPOSE: An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition which is capable of producing a liquid crystal cell, in which a liquid crystal layer stays in a non-polymerized state, and a liquid crystal film with the polymerized liquid crystal layer. In the invention, without a separate alignment layer, an aligned liquid crystal layer can be provided. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal composition includes a photo-alignment material having halogen elements and a liquid crystalline compound. The liquid crystalline compound is included as 30-300% by weight about a photo-alignment material of 100.0% by weight. The liquid crystalline compound is a polymerizable liquid-crystalline compound or a non-polymerizable liquid-crystalline compound. A liquid crystal film contains a base material layer (101) and a liquid crystal layer (102), as a layer made of the liquid crystal composition, in which the liquid crystal composition is in an aligned state.
