The invention relates to metallurgyof secondary lead, in particular to processing of scrap of lead-acid accumulators and electrical cells. A method provides desulfatation of oxide-sulfate fraction of sodium carbonate with formation of lead carbonate and sodium sulfate. Lead carbonate is added into mix before starting of reaction in amount &Dgr;m equal to 6-10 w/w of oxide-sulfate fraction weight, desulfatation reaction is carried out during period &Dgr;t, according to &Dgr;m in the following formula:&Dgr;t (hour) = (-0.50&Dgr;m (w/w) + 6.00) ± 0.25, (1)The desulfatation reaction is carried out at temperature of 20- at continuous mixing of components in reactor. In accordance with the invention components in reactor are mixed by blade agitators, at that number N of blades of agitators in ranges of 1-8 is selected, the ratio of linear size of each blade to linear size of reactor is within the range of 0.3-0.85, and angular rate ω of agitator rotation is maintained of at least 30 rpm. Amount of sodium carbonate impurities is decreased in final product.
