An admission control apparatus for service flow in a broadband wireless access communication system using a multi-hop relay method and a method thereof are provided to define signaling between a base station and a relay station for performing admission control for a service flow parameter of a terminal, thereby enabling the base station to manage resource information of the relay station. When a change of a terminal is requested, a message generator(814) generates an admission control request message. A transmitter(822) encodes the admission control request message and transmits it to relay stations on a data transfer path of the terminal. A receiver receives a response message about the admission control request message from the relay station. A controller(802) determines a parameter of the service flow based on the information of the response message. The determined service flow parameter is transmitted to the terminal. |
