FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: method involves burning a diesel fuel composition in an engine, the fuel composition containing a performance-enhancing additive. The additive is a product of a Mannich reaction, which is carried out with participation of: (a) formaldehyde, (b) polyamine and (c) phenol, having one or more optionally substituted alkyl substitutes.
