FIELD: electricity.SUBSTANCE: induction motor braking apparatus is designed for use in electric drives which require fast and reliable stopping and fixing the mechanism in disconnected state. The apparatus has a three-phase mains with a neutral wire, an induction motor with phase windings; a capacitor is connected between the end of the first phase winding of the induction motor and the neutral wire; a switching element with a control unit and a coil for mechanical braking are connected in series between the end of the first phase winding and the combined clamp of the ends of the second and third phase windings.EFFECT: high reliability and broader functional capabilities, which is achieved by enabling fixation of the position of the mechanism after disconnection thereof from the mains.1 dwg
