The reel (1) has a supporting structure (2) i.e. supporting frame, for mounting the reel on a planar base (B). A reel body (3) is rotatably mounted on the supporting structure around a rotational axis (x) relative to the supporting structure. The reel body forms a base on which a hose (7) is wound by rotating the reel body. The supporting structure defines an alignment of the reel relative to the planar base when the reel is provided on the planar base. The rotational axis of the reel body extends perpendicular to the planar base.
