The electrode assembly according to the present invention comprises: a cathode; an anode; and a separation layer formed on the cathode or the anode or on both so as to separate the cathode from the anode. The separation layer comprises: a first nonporous polymeric film layer made of a polymer material which swells in an electrolyte and can conduct the ions of the electrolyte; and a porous polymeric web layer of a micro-fibrous structure which is made of a mixture of a heat-resistant polymer or a heat-resistant polymer and a swelling polymer, and inorganic particles. One of the cathode and anode comprises a plurality of first unit electrode cells which are connected with each other by connection bridges and are folded in zigzag fashion by means of the connection bridges, and the other one of the cathode and anode comprises a plurality of second unit electrode cells which are separated from each other and are inserted between the first unit electrode cells. Thus the assembly process can be simplified and productivity improved.
