PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a washing and drying machine by lowering the height of a housing and to reduce vibration.SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine includes: a motor 10 that is fixed to a lower part of the outer periphery of a water tub 2 and configured to rotate a drum 4 via a belt 11; an air channel 16 that is communicatively connected with an air inlet 14 and an air outlet 15 of the water tub; a heat pump device 17 that includes a compressor 18, an evaporator 21 and a condenser 19 which are connected through a pipe line 22 to circulate a coolant and arranges the evaporator 21 and the condenser 19 in the air channel; and a blower 24 for blowing drying air into water tub through the air channel. The motor 10 and the heat pump device 17 are arranged apart from each other on the right side and on the left side of a vertical line passing through the rotational axis RX of the drum 4. The motor 10 is arranged at a lower part of the rear face 1a side in a housing 1 and the heat pump device 17 is arranged at a lower part of the front face 1b side in the housing 1.
