PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for a round cast slab, preventing the longitudinal crack of a cast slab, the generation of breakout, deterioration in the roundness of the cross-section of a cast slab, and the generation of inclusion defects.SOLUTION: Mold powder 3 is made into the one in which CaO/SiOis controlled to 0.30 to 0.80 by mass ratio, viscosity at 1,573 K is controlled to 1.0 to 3.5 Pa S, and also, crystallization is not caused. Preferably, the powder includes SiOand CaO so as to satisfy the CaO/SiOas the main components, and further includes, by mass%, ≤5% LiO, 2 to 12% NaO, 5 to 18% AlO, ≤4% MgO, 2 to 8% F and 5 to 12% C. |
