The wheel (1) has a hub (2) connected with a steering wheel collar (4) by spokes (3), and a trigger mechanism i.e. pyrotechnic trigger mechanism (5), controlled by an evaluation unit (6) when danger situation is detected by a sensor (7) i.e. accelerometer, where the wheel is arranged in a basic condition before the controlling of the mechanism and arranged in a sequence condition after the controlling of the mechanism. One of the spokes has higher stiffness in the basic condition than in the sequence condition in which material of the spoke is weakened by controlling the trigger mechanism.
