PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-head printer capable of enhancing productivity of a printed paper piece (label piece 4) by increasing printing speed when printing while transferring a printing paper consecutive body (label consecutive body 2) on a transfer path 8, and a printing method of the same.SOLUTION: Paying attention to simultaneous printing with a plurality of print heads, a multi-head printer includes a plurality of print heads (thermal heads 19) at equal intervals along a transfer path 8 of a printing paper consecutive body 2 which has a plurality of paper pieces 4 consecutively. The respective print heads 19 are arranged according to a pitch P of the paper piece 4, an integer fraction of the pitch P, or an interval H smaller than the pitch P. The paper piece 4 positioned at the tip end of the printing paper consecutive body 2 transfers the printing paper consecutive body 2 to be positioned at a printing start position in the print head 19 positioned at the most downstream side of the transfer path 8. Thus, printing on the respective paper pieces 4 can be simultaneously performed with the respective print heads 19. |
