The present invention is provided with the following: an AC/DC switching circuit (12) for switching the destination of power supply in accordance with the class of power being supplied from an overhead line (2); a transformer (14) for stepping down an inputted alternating current voltage; a tap changer (15) for switching a tap position of the transformer (14); a CNV (17) for converting the output of the tap changer (15) to a direct current voltage; an AC contactor (16) for opening and closing a power supply route between the tap changer (15) and the CNV (17); an FC (18) for storing either the output of the CNV (17) or the output of the overhead line (2); a CH (21) for stepping up the output of the FC (18); an FC (22) for storing the output of the CH (21); an INV (24) for converting the output of the FC (22) to a desired alternating current voltage; an AC/DC switching circuit (12); a DC contactor (19) that is connected between direct current buses (20a, 20b) connecting the FC (18) and the CH (21), and opens and closes a power supply route between the AC/DC switching circuit (12) and the CH (21); and a control unit (30) for controlling the tap changer (15), the AC contactor (16), the DC contactor (19), the CNV (17), and the CH (21) on the basis of information about the overhead line voltage as well as external command information.
