This transition metal oxide containing solid solution lithium contains a transition metal oxide containing solid solution lithium represented by the chemical formula: Li1.5[NiaCobMnc[Li]d]O3 (in the formula, Li indicates lithium, Ni indicates nickel, Co indicates cobalt, Mn indicates manganese, O indicates oxygen, and a, b, c, and d satisfy the relationships: 0 < a < 1.4, 0 <= b < 1.4, 0 < c < 1.4, 0.1 < d <= 0.4, a + b + c + d = 1.5, and 1.1 <= a + b + c < 1.4). The transition metal oxide containing solid solution lithium has a lamellar structured site and a site that changes to a spinel structure by means of charging or discharging in a predetermined electrical potential range. Considering a spinel structure change fraction in the case that all of the lamellar structured Li2MnO3 of the site that changes to a spinel structure has changed to spinel structured LiMn2O4 to be 1, the spinel structure change fraction of the transition metal oxide containing solid solution lithium is at least 0.25 and less than 1.0. |
