PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of securely and instantaneously turns on a high-intensity discharge lamp, having been turned off, again with simple constitution.SOLUTION: There is provided a luminaire 100 including a light emission section 1 having a high-intensity discharge lamp 20 with an electrode pair 23 mounted in a socket 10, and a control section 2 capable of switching the light emission section 1 between a power-on and a power-off state. The control section 2 is provided with a booster circuit 4 which applies high voltage to the high-intensity discharge lamp 20 when the light emission section 1 is switched from the power-off state to the power-on state, and the light emission section 1 is provided with an insulation structure for preventing leakage which can be caused by application of the high voltage. |
