A bird deterrent device 100 comprising an elongated base 102 provided with a raised portion 104 and having a plurality of set of spikes 106, 108 coupled thereto that are configured to extend from the base such that such that the spikes alternate on each side of the base between a lower-angled spike and an upper-angled spike. The base can further include first and second sets of wings 110, 112 that each has a width that is at least twice the width of the base. The spikes can be attached to the base using a spike stabiliser 120, 122. The base is provided with one or more holes 116 for allowing glue to be quickly inserted into the space provided by the raised portion or to provide for fastening means. The spikes and wings are positioned such that a further bird deterrent can be nested in the deterrent for transportation. Preferably the width of the base is no more than 15mm, preferably still 10mm.
