The apparatus has a duplex plug with two simplex plugs or clips (13) for fixing the duplex plug. A trigger (13.1) is provided for simultaneously triggering releasing catches (14) of the clips. An actuating protector (21) has a covering plate (21.1) for covering the trigger towards a proximal side. A guide section (21.2) is combined together with the duplex plug and/or the simplex plugs or clips. The trigger is designed as a flap that projects from a plug axis in distal direction, and comprises a trigger-opening (13.2) through which the guide section protrudes in a secured condition. An independent claim is also included for a duplex-adapter for a duplex plug for an optical plug-in connector.
