Provided is an emergency power source system, which is provided with a fuel cell system and associated with a system power source so that it can feed an electric power from the fuel cell system to a load when a system power source fails. The emergency power source system includes a distribution board connected with the system power source, a breaker interposed between the system power source and the distribution board, and a secondary battery. The distribution board is fed with the output of a power conditioner disposed in the fuel cell system. When the failure of the system power source is detected, the power conditioner stops the action of the fuel cell system, and feeds a failure detection signal to the breaker thereby to bring the breaker into an interrupted state. When the breaker is in the interrupted state, the fuel cell system is started with an electric power fed from the secondary battery through the distribution board so that an alternating power is fed, after the start, with an alternating power from the fuel cell system. |
