A process for making a hollow item, particularly a reservoir 100 includes the steps of positioning a hollow extrudate 130 at an elevated temperature in a mould cavity, inserting a fitting 158, 160 into an end of the extrudate 130, sealing an outer surface 154, 156 of the fitting with an interior surface of the extrudate 130 using latent heat within the extrudate, and forming at least a portion of the extrudate against the mould cavity forming a reservoir with the fitting sealed into the reservoir. |
