<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner blowing out air to a side when necessary. <P>SOLUTION: The indoor unit 110 for an air conditioner is an indoor unit of a wall hanging type attached to an indoor wall surface, and it includes an indoor unit body 111, and a front panel 113. The indoor unit body 111 has a casing body 112a. In a side face of the casing body 112a, a side opening 117 is formed for blowing out air to the side. In the front panel 113, the side opening 117 can be opened and closed.
