PURPOSE: A permeable reactive barrier for contaminant purification is provided to reduce a construction cost by using a recycled aggregate, a zero-valence iron, and a clay mineral. CONSTITUTION: A permeable reactive barrier for contaminant purification comprises: a zero-valence metal as a desalting reaction material; and a recycled aggregate for improving the reaction efficiency of the zero-valence metal. A contaminant purifying method using the permeable reactive barrier comprises the steps of: digging out the ground to expose the pathway of underground water; and arranging the permeable reactive barrier in the pathway of underground water.
