PURPOSE: A composition containing interferon receptor genes for preventing avian influenza is provided to suppress the proliferation of the avian influenza virus proliferation and to remove a side effect by interferon. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing avian influenza contains a polyncleotide encoding interferon receptor or a vector containing the polynucleotide as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The polynucleotide is IFNAR1 gene or IFNAR2 gene. IFNAR1 gene is denoted by sequence number 1. IFNAR2 gene is denoted by sequence number 2. A DNA vaccine for preventing avian influenza contains the polynucleotide or the vector as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
