<p>PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a polythiol compound is provided to obtain a polythiol compound with suppressed discoloration by controlling the content of the specific impurities in an epichlorohydrin compound used as a starting material for the synthesis of polythiol. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a polythiol compound for an optical material includes a step of conducting the reaction of an epichlorohydrin compound and 2-mercaptoethano. In the epichlorohydrin compound, the total content of impurities consisting of acrolein, allylchloride, dichloropropane, 2,3-dichloropropene, 2-methyl-2-pentanol, 2-chloroarylalcohol, cis-1,3-dichloropropene, trans-1,3-dicloropropene, 1,3-dichloroisopanol, 1,2,3-trichloropropane, and 2,3-dichloropropanol is 0.5 wt% or less.</p> |
