<p>A washing machine (1) is provided with: an outer box (10) which has a laundry insertion/extraction opening open at the top and opened and closed by a lid section (15) having an air suction opening (15b) formed therein; a water tank (20) which has a closed-end tube shape, is open at the top, and is received within the outer box (10); a dewatering tank (30) which is disposed within the water tank (20) in a rotatable manner; and an ion generator (18) which faces the dewatering tank (30) and which generates ions. The washing machine (1) is provided with one or more operational modes. During a predetermined operational mode, the washing machine (1) performs ion supply operation in which the dewatering tank (30) is rotated while the ion generator (18) is driven. In the ion supply operation, air which has flowed into the dewatering tank (30) through the air suction opening (15b) is caused to contain ions, and the air is swirled within the dewatering tank (30).</p> |
