PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of predicting the likelihood of long-term survival of a breast cancer patient without the recurrence of breast cancer, following surgical removal of the primary tumor.SOLUTION: A method of predicting the likelihood of long-term survival of a breast cancer patient without the recurrence of breast cancer, following surgical removal of the primary tumor, includes determining the expression level of RNA transcripts of CCNB1 in a breast cancer tissue sample obtained from the patient, normalized against a reference set of the RNA transcripts, wherein overexpression of the CCNB1 indicates a decreased likelihood of long-term survival without breast cancer recurrence. |
