PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that applies a proper amount of lubricant onto the surface of an image carrier without consuming the lubricant more than necessary.SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a photoreceptor drum 41, lubricant, a lubricant application brush 51, a color detection part 60, and a control part 110. The photoreceptor drum 41 carries an electrostatic latent image based on image data. The lubricant contains lubricant 52 to be applied onto the surface of the photoreceptor drum 41. The lubricant application brush 51 rotates in contact with the photoreceptor drum 41 and the surface of the lubricant 52 to apply the lubricant 52 onto the photoreceptor drum 41. The color detection part 60 detects a color of the lubricant application brush 51. The control part 110 controls the lubricant application brush 51 on the basis of the color of the lubricant application brush 51 detected by the color detection part 60. |
